Albert Santalo
Albert Santalo is the Chairman, President and CEO of CareCloud. He founded the company in 2009 with a mission of leading a technological transformation of the healthcare industry through modern, cloud-based technologies that connect physicians to their patients and each other. CareCloud has since become a leading provider of cloud-based health IT software and services, attracting physicians across 50 medical specialties in 48 states and was named to the prestigiousForbes Magazine’s Annual List of America’s Most Promising Companies in 2014.
With Santalo at the helm, CareCloud has reported triple-digit revenue growth for 15 consecutive quarters, expanded to Boston and Salt Lake City, and raised $55 million in private investor and venture capital funding from firms such as Intel Capital, Norwest Venture Partners, Tenaya Capital and Adams Street Partners.
Prior to CareCloud, Santalo was founder and chairman of Avisena, a software-enabled revenue cycle management company for medical groups. He led the company to 55% average year-over-year revenue increases from the period of 2004-2008, and was awarded a U.S. patent for its Accounts Receivable Management Methodology.
Prior to Avisena, Santalo was a Director in the management consulting practice at The Hackett Group / AnswerThink (NASDAQ: HCKT), where he served as a Director in the IT Transformation and Strategy practice. Clients included Bausch and Lomb, Ivax Pharmaceuticals, Roche Pharmaceuticals, AOL/Time Warner, Waste Management, 3Com Corporation, Republic Industries, Florida Power and Light, ADP/TotalSource and Alliance Data Systems.
Santalo holds an MBA from Florida International University (FIU), and is an active member of industry associations such as HIMSS, MGMA and HFMA. The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce recognized him as the 2012 Technology Entrepreneur of the Year and by Fortune Magazine as one of the TOP CEO’s changing U.S. Healthcare named that same year. He was also honored to be inducted into the FIU Entrepreneurship Hall of Fame in 2006 and spearheaded CareCloud’s 2010 IBM SmartCamp win. He is also the recipient of FIU’s Charles E. Perry Visionary Award for Outstanding Alumni. He has spoken at various industry conferences like Health 2.0, the Digital Healthcare Innovation Summit and America’s Venture Capital Conference (AVCC). Santalo is also on the board of the FIU Foundation, the FIU College of Business Dean’s Council and the University of Miami Health Sector Management and Policy Advisory Board.
Marco Giberti
Mr. Giberti is a successful entrepreneur and angel investor with more than 20 years of intensive experience in marketing and communications with focus on the media, internet and events industry. After several years in a successful career as a corporate executive at Apple computers, Mr. Giberti decided to give free rein to his entrepreneurial spirit and became:
• Co-founder and Board Member of Mind Opener, a leading publishing group in Latin America that was later sold to British Pearson Media Group, and
• Co-founder and Board Member of e-mind, an internet and media communications company that was sold to Liberty Media.
• President, CEO and co-founder of Mind Trainer, a firm specialized in the organization of major regional trade-shows and events.
After a very successful growth, regional expansion and partnerships, including a long term relationship with E.J.Krause, Reed Elsevier bought a controlling position in the business in the year 2005, and Mr. Giberti became its president and regional partner for the events and trade show division in Latin America.Over the course of his business career, Mr. Giberti has been awarded a number of distinctions in his field, including, among others, Entrepreneur of the year Award and was named one of the top 100 most influential people on the global convention and exhibition business by the Trade Show Week magazine. Mr. Giberti is a Harvard Business School OPM Graduate, and member of YPO, the Young Presidents Organization.
