CodeArt uses art to inspire girls to code! They hold regular coding workshops and events focussed primarily on girls grades 4-12. Their upcoming event “Code Art Miami” takes place at MAGIC at MDC Wolfson Campus on Saturday, March 18th. It is a digital art showcase and all-girls coding competition that provides a vehicle to inspire young women to learn to code and to showcase their creations. It also seeks to foster a sense of community among the participating student groups and pave the way for future collaborations. At these year’s event there will also be mini-workshops for attendees of all ages and genders — including a p5.js class taught by one of the experts in the field of Creative Coding, Cassie Tarakajian.
All proceeds from this workshop will go to supporting the CodeArt.Miami scholarship, which provides a full 2-year tuition scholarship to study Animation Art or Game Development and Design at Miami Dade College.
