Delou’s 6th Annual African Diaspora Dance & Drum Festival of Florida

Delou Africa, is host to the annual cultural arts educational festival and conference known as the “African Diaspora Dance & Drum Festival of Florida” (A.D.D.D.F.F.). Since its inception, this key multicultural outreach event has attracted local, national and international participants while connecting the African Diaspora to our diverse communities. Past success is reflected in the cumulative attendance for the festivals five year history, which has surpassed over 2,500 participants. Our on-going festival theme is “Bridging Cultural Gaps” and our 2015 event will be held at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex on Saturday August 1, 2015. The festival expands the knowledge base of the community through a variety of program components for the entire family. Participants can enjoy African and Caribbean dance, drum and music workshops, yoga, a health fair, a symposium sponsored by our “Better Living” segment, a raffle drawing, an artisan marketplace, a free children’s village zone that includes , African folktale, dance, drum, arts & crafts, book bag and school supply give-away and a grand performance concert extravaganza featuring renowned international guest and local artists along with Delou Africa Dance Ensemble.

Since 1987 Delou Africa Dance Ensemble (D.A.D.E.) (our performance company) has collaborated with academic, cultural, civic and social entity’s across South Florida, to showcase and preserve African dance, drum, music and history which brings cultural awareness and diversity to the community and abroad. D.A.D.E. has established itself as one of the premier traditional African performing arts companies in South Florida. These achievements support Delou’s goal to provide children and adults of our diverse community the opportunity for cultural artistic expression, growth and appreciation in a supportive and nurturing environment.
