The Social Good Summit Miami is a two-day conference examining the impact of technology and new media on social good initiatives locally. Held during UN & Social Media Week from September 22-23 at the Miami Innovation Center, #SGSMiami unites a dynamic community of local leaders and grassroots activists to discuss solutions for the greatest challenges of our city.
Our theme, #2030NOW, asks the question, “What type of world do I want to live in by the year 2030?” During the Social Good Summit, global citizens around the world unite to unlock the potential of technology to make the world a better place. Here in Miami we will meet to discuss local issues and highlight all the good that is taking place to solve these issues already.
This event started in NYC in 2010 alongside the United Nation Assembly week. Pete Cashmere of Mashable decided things needed to change. And together with the United Nations Foundation, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Ericcson, the 92nd St Y and the UNDP the Social Good Summit was created. Since then problems are being solved, people are uniting and change is happening. The event was brought to Miami last year for the first time and will be even better this year, partnering with New York City as one of two US cities to participate alongside 37+ other confirmed countries worldwide.
The Miami event will be live-streamed globally and feature key players in the Miami area. Together we can create a better Miami and help to solve the issues that are holding us back from greatness.
