Fifteen years ago, we didn’t really use cell phones, social networks or even search engines.  Do you dare to hear what the next fifteen years will bring?  What will that mean for Miami?  The future of any city is the creative capability of its residents.  With the tools of disruptive innovation are becoming democratized and accessible to everyone and anyone, that is more true today than ever before.  Salim will describe the tools of this new future and the role that culture and cities will play in it, along with the societal disruptions we’ll have to face along with it and the opportunities for a city like Miami.

Salim Ismail is a sought-after speaker, strategist and entrepreneur based in Silicon Valley. He travels extensively addressing topics including breakthrough technologies and their impact on society.  He advises Fortune 100 companies and governments worldwide on the impact of accelerating technologies. Salim has spent the last five years building Singularity University based at NASA Ames and before that built and ran Brickhouse, Yahoo’s internal incubator. His last company, Angstro, was sold to Google in August 2010.
