Lab.ID is excited to bring New York’s The Product Council to Miami on January 24th. Product Council provides startups and existing companies a fresh new outlet for critical feedback, ideation, and improvement of their products. Join product makers, (designers, developers, etc.) and founders to learn valuable lessons and insights from experienced product owners as they dive deep into the challenge, success and failure of product design. This is no demo or pitch, rather it’s an open examination of how to execute an idea. Join us for your opportunity to exchange product stories, network, and learn valuable lessons from seasoned product veterans.

Product Council Events are broken into two acts:
Act I: For the first act, we introduce a startup who’s there to ask for product advice and feedback from the council. The council consists of three (3) experienced product owners who serve as an anchor for the ensuing conversations. In this instance, the product council and audience provide a product owner valuable feedback on their product.
This month’s featured startup is DermaSensor, an affordable handheld sensor device that will let you scan your skin for irregular lesions in seconds. generating results instantly with CEO Cody Simmons (Linkedin) and Head of Product Ryan Freiden (Linkedin)
DermaSensor is a mobile medical device startup working to enable primary care physicians and consumers to quickly and effectively evaluate skin for cancer. To achieve this, we are commercializing a tool comprised of a low-cost handheld spectrometer, algorithms that employ machine learning, and an easy-to-use smartphone app. This tool provides a simple “yes/no” referral recommendation based on the malignancy risk level of the lesion. DermaSensor has enrolled over 500 patients in clinical studies that demonstrate the effectiveness of its patented technology. DermaSensor’s Co-Founder and Chairman (Dr. Maurice Ferre) is a serial entrepreneur that most recently took public and then sold MAKO Surgical to Stryker for ~$1.7B.
Act II: The second act introduces a more established business who’s product owner is given an opportunity to showcase a particular product or feature they feel their product team has executed particularly well. In this scenario, the audience is provided with valuable product learnings through the experience of another product owner. Note: There are occasions where we have product makers come give talks about various themes related to product development, management or design. care cloud
