Attendees will gain firsthand expertise and advice from a panel of Florida investors who have experienced and successfully overcome crisis.

Tigre Wenrich

Tigre is the CEO of LAB Miami Ventures, a venture studio that creates new digital businesses from scratch. Based at The LAB Miami, South Florida’s original co-working space, LAB Ventures has launched businesses such as Lumi.Life, OrderOut, and Expetitle. In 2019, LAB Ventures announced plans for a seed-stage Venture Capital fund targeting PropTech startups.

Having invested in more than 30 startups, Tigre is also an active angel investor and a mentor to local emerging technology companies. He serves on the board of Miami Angels, the leading angel investor network in Florida, and the advisory boards for the University of Miami’s Master of Real Estate Development + Urbanism (MRED+U) and FIU’s Master of International Business.

Chris Fountas

Christopher Fountas is a Managing Director of AVP. Chris has spent over 20 years experience founding, building, advising and funding early-stage technology companies, many at the intersection of the commercial and government markets. Chris was a partner at Baker and Hostetler, one of the nation’s top 100 law firms with more than 600 attorneys. Chris also co-founded several successful start-up companies, and continues to serve as a board member and advisor to many of these companies, including Alpine Fresh, one of the countries most innovative produce suppliers with over 4,000 employees, operations in six countries and sales across five continents. Chris graduated from The Ohio State University with a B.S. Degree in Finance and earned a JD (cum laude) from the University of Miami.

Patty Wexler

Born and raised in Venezuela, Patricia Halfen Wexler left her home country after graduating with honors with a degree in Industrial Engineering from Simon Bolivar University. She began her business career with management consulting and investment banking experience across Latin America at BCG and DLJ, respectively. After obtaining her MBA with High Distinction from Harvard Business School,Patty joined The Walt Disney Company’s Strategic Planning Group. She then joined Elevation Partners, a ~$2 billion private equity fund focused on media and technology.Thereafter, she ran global business development for Locaweb, the leading Brazilian web-hosting provider.For the last four years she oversaw the McNamee family’s investments.She is currently co-founder andManaging Director of Starlight Ventures, an early-stage investment fund backing the world’s visionaries focused on addressing humanity’s most significant challenges and opportunities with transformational approaches.

Nico Berardi

Nico is the Founder & General Partner of ANIMO Ventures; a seed-stage focused venture capital firm. ANIMO was founded in 2018 with a U$60m debut fund to lead or co-lead the earliest rounds of financing for tech startups, across the US. He was at Resolute Ventures, a top-decile seed firm, for the two years prior.

Previously, Nico got his start in the venture industry by launching Miami Angels, a seed-stage focused angel group in partnership with the Knight Foundation. Miami Angels is the premier angel group in Florida investing U$250k-U$300k in 8-10 startups a year. Nico currently serves on the Board.
